A Tampa Bay Rays fan made an impressive barehanded snag of a foul ball during Sunday's spring training game against the New York Yankees.
It happened in the bottom of the eighth with one out as the Yankees held a 7-6 lead. Rays batter Lucius Fox hit a 3-1 pitch out of play near the right field stands. The Rays fan lunged backwards and grabbed it with his left hand as he fell onto the grass.
The fan took a bow and received a round of applause. Someone needs to give that fan a contract.
Fox lined out to second base, but hit a single which knocked in two runs earlier in the game as the Rays beat the Yankees 9-7.

The Phillie Phanatic has a new look for the 2020 season, and he made his season debut at Sunday's Philadelphia Phillies home opener against Pittsburgh.
The Phanatic now has blue eyebrows, stars around his eyes, feathers on his arms and a blue tail. However, he still has that same prankster personality that he always had.
The story behind the new look comes down to a legal dispute between the Phillies and the original designers of the Phanatic mascot. The 35-year-old copyright agreement between the Phillies and the designers, Bonnie Erickson and Wayde Harrison, expires on June 15th of this year. The designers are hoping to renegotiate the rights to the Phanatic character, which is within their rights according to federal law. However, the Phillies believe they hold the Phanatic rights "forever". The Phillies seem to be hoping that the tweaks to the Phanatic's look will be enough to claim the character as their own design. We shall see.

Rapper Snoop Dogg joined the Los Angeles Kings television broadcast booth to bring his unique perspective to Saturday night's game against Colorado.
In January 2019, Snoop joined the Kings broadcast team of Alex Faust and Jim Fox for a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins and received rave reviews. It was only a matter of time before he received an invite back, and with the Kings holding "90s Night", it was the perfect opportunity. Snoop was decked out in full Kings gear, with a black Kings cap and white Kings jacket.
Snoop was hyping a new clothing store called "Snoopy's" which he's opening in Inglewood across from the new stadium where the Rams and Chargers will be playing. He also has an electronic gaming cafe that he is opening up for a younger generation of gamers.
Snoop also revealed that he will be in the new EA Sports NHL hockey game. Players will have the choice of having Snoop announcing the game for them. That would be fun. It's amazing how his appearance at one hockey game has opened so many new doors for him.
To top off a fun night for Snoop, Kings coach Todd McClellan invited him into the locker room prior to the game to reveal the team's starting lineup. Naturally, Snoop brought some of his trademark style for the announcements:
"Drew Doughty - no doubt."
"Up front, we gonna have Anze Kopitar - cuz you got the coke, you understand me?"
"19 - Alex I-follow (Iafollo) - do your job."
"Dustin Get-Down Brown - you know what time it is."
"In the back, we got Jonathan Quick, like quick to gettin' yo' ass."
The Kings loved it, and Faust and Fox had a blast as they did last year. Unfortunately, Snoop's presence didn't bring luck to the Kings, as they lost to the Avs 2-1 in a shootout.

Miami Marlins shortstop Jazz Chisholm stole third base and tried to take it with him during Saturday's spring training game against the New York Mets.
It happened in the top of the eighth inning with two outs and runners at first and second with the game tied at 3-3. Chisholm was the runner at second and he took off on the 1-0 pitch, making it to third base easily. However, in the process of sliding into third, he pulled the bag right out of the dirt.
Time was called and the bag was easily placed back into place, but it made for a few laughs.
Chisholm scored the game-winning run for the Marlins as they beat the Mets 5-3.

"Thanks again for coming out, Vipers fans. We need y'all to be loud today. We need you to bring that energy, and most importantly...we need you to SMELL what the Vipers are cooking!"
Honestly, it was pretty weak imitation, but you can't fault Horn for trying. The Vipers are winless heading into Week 3 and need whatever motivation they can find to come out with a win against an undefeated roughnecks team.

Edmonton Oilers center Leon Draisaitl scored a goal with the help of the strangest bounce you will ever see during Friday night's game against Minnesota.
It happened in the second period with the score tied at 2. The Oilers won the faceoff in the Wild zone, with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins taking the puck and passing it back to Matthew Benning at the point. Benning shot the puck wide and it bounced along the boards and around the back of the net to Draisaitl. Draisaitl tried to center it and the puck hit the heel of the skate of Wild left winger Jordan Greenway, who was skating back up the ice the other way. The puck deflected backwards and into the air, fooling everyone, especially goaltender Alex Stalock, as the puck found its way into the back of the net.
You don't see that every day.
Unfortunately, Draisaitl's goal would be the last for the Oilers in the game, as the Wild followed up with three goals (all scored by Jared Spurgeon) to give Minnesota the 5-3 road victory.

Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn was ejected for his dangerous hit on Arizona Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson during Wednesday night's game at the American Airlines Center.
It happened in the second period with the Stars holding a 1-0 lead. With the puck in the Stars zone, Ekman-Larsson chased a puck towards the boards when Benn came in from behind and shoved him into the glass head-first.
Ekman-Larsson went down hard and was taken off the ice, but did return to the game later on. Benn was given a game misconduct penalty for the dangerous hit, which was confirmed with a review.
